The pieces of the Artificial Light series (2007) depict nocturnal moments in an urban setting, and the artificial light that refracts the darkness is a substantial element regarding them. The human figures in the pictures are depicted statically and schematically, as a consequence, they turn out to be pure signs and become homogeneous with the space surrounding them. Due to the precise design of the photos the viewer might draw a parallel between their composition and that of a geometric system, however, this tense arrangement is softened by the lyrical aesthetic evoked by the visual effects of the mystical light-conditions.
