By placing light and fire (both of which are attributed magical layers of meaning to) in a natural setting free from any markers of civilization the photographs elevate the captured moments to the level of transcendence. In the Landscape series, the cognitive image of the human being can be only present indirectly, as the trigger of the light and fire or as a reflection in the beastly eyes. However, in a broader interpretation, these images may not be only understood as figures of human origin, but also as manifestations of an indefinite, higher power.
